The Old Man, starring Jeff Bridges, will premiere on FX on June 16th, with the first two episodes of its seven-episode run debuting then followed by weekly airings. The episodes will be available on Hulu the next day, as well as on Star+, an international streaming service, at a later time.
Bridges plays retired CIA agent Dan Chase in the film adaptation of Thomas Perry’s bestselling novel. Chase has been living off the grid for decades.
In the course of the film, he is pursued by a number of people, including the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence (John Lithgow), his protege (Alia Shawkat), and a special agent who has a shared and convoluted history with Chase, as well as an assassin who attempts to kill him (Gbenga Akinnagbe).
Also starring in the series are Amy Brenneman (Bill Heck), Leem Lubany (Leem Lubany), and Pej Vahdat (Pej Vahdat). Jon Watts, who just directed the “Spider-Man” trilogy, directed the first two episodes.
